WordPress 2.7 (Coltrane) is jazzy!

Sorry for the blog snafus over the past 24 hours. A schedule WordPress update went horribly wrong. First I deleted the wrong folders. Then I uploaded all the wrong files. Then my Net connection broke down for the evening.
This morning with a clear (rested) brain I restored my previous (2.6.x working) version first. Then after I’d had my morning cuppa joe, upgraded the blog to WordPress 2.7 ‘Coltrane’. Plug that Burning (er, Firefox) Leak

If you are as regular a Firefox user as I. You do need to be aware of two key learnings about Firefox extensions.
First, it’s not a good idea to load up your browser with multiple extensions. The greater the installed extensions, the longer the browser takes to fire up (load into memory for the non-geeky). And think by installing then disabling extensions speeds matters up. You are W-R-O-N-G!

Why Firefox 3.1 Beta Rocks

I know I’ve been emoting (anyone got a better alternate?) that I’ve grown too old and cautious to keep testing cutting-edge Beta stuff. That’s not really true. I still use quite a few software in Beta. But only from the developers I trust.
Firefox 3.1 Beta is one such app. But Cautious I remain. And use a Portable version. Not only because I can carry it around on my lifeline USB sticks.
